Casablanca-based choreographer and dancer Hind Benali explores her personal past and African roots while addressing the culture, history, and gender politics of Morocco. Rich in images and movement, Benali’s new work reflects the complexities of Moroccan life.

The Turkish Nationality Room Committee invites you to a concert featuring the group Neotolia on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium on the University of Pittsburgh campus. The event will feature a “meet and greet” reception with refreshments at 6 p.m., followed by the concert at 6:30 p.m. The proceeds of the concert will help fund the Turkish Room Summer Study Abroad Scholarship. Tickets are $25 per person, $10 for students. Additional donations to the scholarship fund will be gratefully accepted and are tax deductible. |

Each booth will have a brief history of how Islam has influenced its country, cultural facts, authentic snacks, and little trinkets and clothing from that country.
