Georgetown University's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies Spring newsletter: We are All Palestinians

Announced by the University of Pittsburgh

We are pleased to present the Fall-Spring issue of the CCAS Newsmagazine, which we chose to dedicate to our engagement with Palestine. Beyond its academic mission, CCAS seeks to respond to current events in the region, and after the attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 and the subsequent war on Gaza, members of our community quickly mobilized to support one another and to organize events providing history, context, and analysis about the conflict. This issue highlights some of these efforts and also showcases the related work of our alums—from academic research on transcontinental solidarity between Palestinians and Black Power activists and the history of scholasticide in Gaza, to on-the-ground fieldwork investigating human rights abuses in Israel and Palestine. The issue also features reflections by CCAS faculty on the unique challenges of teaching in a time of war, including fostering safe and open dialogue and responding to student needs.

There are several ways to read this issue of the CCAS Newsmagazine:
• As a visual magazine on Issuu
• As a PDF that you can read or download here
• On the CCAS website by clicking the individual articles below
• As a hard copy, which you can pick up at the CCAS office
