Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival Presents: Disturbing the Peace

Filmmakers Stephen Apkon and Andrew Young trace the compelling true story of the joint Israeli and Palestinian activist group, Combatants for Peace. A rare story of binational cooperation, the peace movement was founded by former Israeli and Palestinian combatants who work together using non-violent activism to end the bloodshed in the Middle East. From both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the men and women of Combatants for Peace prove how movements like theirs at the community level are vital to creating peaceful solutions to violence. Through intimate one-on-one interviews, Israeli and Palestinian men and women tell of their personal transformations from enemy combatants to collaborative activists.
