Professor Efrat Aviv is an associate professor in the Department of General History at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. Her areas of expertise include the history and politics of the Turkish Republic, religious movements in Turkey, antisemitism in Turkey, Israel-Turkey relations, Turkish Jewry, and the Kurdish issue. She served as a fellow at the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University from 2012 to 2015 and is also a senior researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies. Professor Aviv is the author of Antisemitism and Anti-Zionism in Turkey: From Ottoman Rule to AKP (New York and Oxford: Routledge, 2017) and Fethullah Gülen and His Movement: The Unsolved Enigma (Jerusalem: Magness, 2024) (in Hebrew).
